Terms and Conditions

A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required to cancel or reschedule any lesson. If sufficient notice is not provided, the pupil will be charged the full lesson fee.

  • All pre-paid packages must be paid in full in advance.

  • Lessons purchased as part of a block booking or intensive course must be used within 3 months from the date of purchase.

  • Any unused lessons after this period will expire and are non-refundable.

  • 5-hour and 10-hour pre-paid lesson packages are non-refundable.

A and A Driving School reserves the right to determine whether a pupil is ready to take their driving test and whether the driving school vehicle may be used for the test.

If you have a complaint, please contact A and A Driving School directly so we can address the matter promptly. If you remain dissatisfied, you may escalate your concern to the Registrar of Approved Driving Instructors, who will review the issue and provide guidance accordingly.

A and A Driving School – Detailed Terms & Conditions

1) About A and A Driving School & Your Instructor

  • A and A Driving School is the trading name of A and A Driving Services Limited. In these terms, “A and A Driving School”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to A and A Driving School unless stated otherwise.

  • We work with individual franchised driving instructors who are self-employed and operate as franchisees under a franchise agreement.

  • Your contract for driving tuition is between you and your instructor. A and A Driving School provides booking and administration services when lessons are purchased through our website or contact centre.


2) Learner Driver – Eligibility & Licence Requirements

To take driving lessons, you must:

  • Be 17 years or older (or 16+ if eligible due to disability), and

  • Hold a valid UK driving licence (provisional, full, or an appropriate foreign licence valid for use in the UK).

Licence proof:

  • You must provide proof of a valid licence to your instructor before your first lesson.

  • If you do not provide proof, your instructor may refuse to conduct the lesson. In such cases, you may still be charged for the booked lesson.


3) Paying for Lessons

A) Pre-paying through A and A Driving School

Our website and contact centre allow you to purchase lesson packages in advance.

Payment method:

  • Debit/credit card via our website (or as otherwise offered at checkout).

Client Account protection (for prepaid bookings):

  • Your prepaid funds are held in a designated Client Account, separate from our business funds.

  • Funds are used to pay your instructor lesson-by-lesson, only after each lesson has been delivered.

  • Payment to the instructor will not be made if you raise a dispute within the timeframe set out below.

Lesson confirmation & disputes (72-hour window):

  • After each lesson, your instructor confirms delivery to A and A Driving School.

  • We then email you confirmation (instructor name, lesson duration, date/time).

  • If you disagree with the details, you must contact us immediately, and in any event within 72 hours of the email, to dispute the transaction.

  • If no dispute is raised within 72 hours, the instructor will automatically receive payment from your Client Account for that lesson.

Queries/complaints:

  • If you have any concerns about your lessons or instructor, contact A and A Driving School within the above timeframe and we will aim to resolve matters promptly.


B) Paying Your Instructor Directly

You may also choose to pay your instructor directly (outside our booking system).

  • Your instructor will confirm the payment methods they accept.

  • Please ask for a receipt for all direct payments.

  • A and A Driving School is not responsible for any payments made directly to instructors.


4) Refund Policy (Prepaid Lessons via A and A Driving School Only)

We operate a “No Quibble Refund Guarantee” for funds paid to A and A Driving School and held in the Client Account.

Key points:

  • If you decide you no longer want lessons through A and A Driving School, we will refund any remaining balance in your Client Account in line with the rules below.

  • Refunds are returned to the same card used for the original payment. If that card is no longer valid, we may request ID verification and confirmation of alternate details for security.

  • This guarantee applies only to funds paid to A and A Driving School and held in the Client Account.

  • Funds paid directly to an instructor are not covered.

Six-month usage rule:

  • Prepaid funds must be used toward lessons within six months from the date of payment.

  • After six months, any unused funds expire and are non-refundable, and cannot be used for future bookings.

  • You may request a refund of the remaining balance at any time within the six-month period if you decide not to continue.

Valid payment channels only:

  • You must only pay using the payment methods we provide.

  • We do not accept responsibility for payments made via any unofficial channels (e.g., social media, third-party websites, auction sites, etc.).

  • If an offer is legitimate, you will be provided a code enabling purchase through our website or contact centre. If you are unsure, contact us.


5) Booking Fee

A booking/admin fee of £3.49 applies to lesson packages purchased through A and A Driving School (including blocks and vouchers). This contributes to administering bookings and managing the Client Account.


6) Redeeming Prepaid Lessons & Lesson Arrangements

  • You and your instructor are responsible for agreeing the time, location, and duration of lessons.

  • You must inform your instructor immediately if anything changes that affects your entitlement to lessons (including licence issues).

  • Instructors cannot guarantee availability at all requested times; lesson scheduling is subject to mutual agreement.

Pricing by area:

  • Lesson rates vary across the UK. Prices quoted at purchase apply to the postcode area selected at checkout.

  • If you later take lessons in a different area, the local rate may differ and the total hours you receive may be adjusted up or down accordingly.

  • Except for area changes, lessons already purchased remain at the price paid even if future rates change.


7) Lesson Cancellation Policy

  • You must give at least 48 hours’ notice to cancel or rearrange a lesson.

  • If you fail to do so, your instructor may charge the full lesson fee.

Disputes:

  • If a payment is disputed, A and A Driving School will investigate promptly.

  • No payment will be released from the Client Account until the dispute is resolved to our satisfaction.


8) Transfers

Prepaid lessons purchased in your name cannot be sold or transferred to another person.


9) Driving Test Policy

A and A Driving School (and/or your instructor) has the final decision on:

  • Whether you are ready to take your driving test, and

  • Whether the instructor’s car can be used for the test.


10) Vouchers – Terms & Conditions

General

  • Lessons are available only to those holding a valid UK licence entitlement.

  • Your instructor may refuse lessons if you do not provide licence proof before your first lesson.

  • We do not guarantee any specific instructor, vehicle, or lesson time.

  • Keep vouchers safe—lost or damaged vouchers may not be replaced.

  • Vouchers are valid until the date shown and must be redeemed by that date.

  • Vouchers have no cash value and are non-refundable.

Cash Gift / Priority / Fast Start Vouchers (where offered)

  • These vouchers provide credit toward lessons through A and A Driving School only.

  • Purchase and redemption are available only via our website (or as specified).

  • Voucher promotions must be redeemed within six months from lessons commencing (where applicable).


11) Introductory Offers (If Available)

  • Intro offers are for new customers only and limited to one offer per customer.

  • Where an offer includes a free hour(s), specific conditions may apply (e.g., one free hour used on test day).

  • We may amend or withdraw offers at any time.

  • We may refuse an offer purchase if it is unsuitable for the customer or instructor.


12) Short Notice Test Bookings

A short notice test is where there are two weeks or less between the first planned lesson and the test date.

Key conditions:

  • The short notice package includes five hours of instructor/vehicle time.

  • The first two hours are used to assess readiness. If the instructor deems you unready, they will not take you to the test.

  • Any additional tuition needed must be taken in available slots. If you cannot complete required tuition, the instructor cannot take you to the test.

  • Five hours must be paid upfront. This payment is not refundable if you are assessed as not ready, however remaining hours/funds can be used for further lessons.

  • DVSA test cancellation rules apply (you may lose DVSA fees depending on timing).

  • If you cancel before the first lesson, standard cancellation/refund rules apply (minimum 48 hours’ notice).

  • This offer cannot be combined with other offers.

  • Lesson rates are charged at the standard rate for the relevant postcode area.


13) Liability

A and A Driving School and/or your instructor will not be liable for loss or damage where:

  • There is no breach of legal duty,

  • The loss was not reasonably foreseeable,

  • The loss results from your act/omission, or

  • The loss results from circumstances outside reasonable control.

We are not liable for business-related losses (e.g., lost profits, loss of opportunity).
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory consumer rights.


14) Use of Personal Data

Personal information provided to A and A Driving School and/or your instructor may be used to:

  • Verify identity and administer services,

  • Manage accounts, prevent fraud and recover debts,

  • Carry out analysis and service improvement,

  • Contact you about services and offers (including by email, phone, SMS, etc.),

  • Comply with legal/regulatory requests.

We may monitor communications for quality, compliance, and training. Fraud checks may be carried out where appropriate.


15) Website Terms (Use, Copyright, Disclaimers, Links)

  • Use of our website indicates acceptance of these terms.

  • You may print pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce or distribute content without written permission.

  • Website content is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free service and do not accept liability for indirect or consequential losses.

  • Links to third-party sites are not under our control and we accept no responsibility for them.


16) Jurisdiction & Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, unless otherwise agreed.


17) Changes to Terms

We may update these terms by posting changes on the website. You should check periodically for updates. Continued use of the website/services indicates acceptance of updated terms.
